Sue Holderness, Actress best known as Marlene in Only Fools and Horses
Actress Sue Holderness has battled with thinning hair for many years. “I know that you hold on to your hair during pregnancy, but I didn’t expect so much to fall out after. I also lost some hair in the months after my second pregnancy but it wasn’t so alarming, so you can imagine my horror when several years later my hair started to spill out of my head again.
“I started to notice large amounts of hair in my brush, but I was truly shocked when I woke up one morning and there was a carpet of hair on my pillow. I couldn’t understand how any hair was actually left on my head because SO MUCH was falling out. Thin, brittle, lank hair made me feel unattractive and anxious. I went to see my doctor and specialists but nobody seemed to be able to help. I realised that it may have been a reaction to the huge shock of the death of my father. I have long periods where my hair is not too bad, but it did start to tumble out again which I’m sure tied up with the menopause. I felt horribly unfeminine and completely not me.
“Over the years I’ve tried everything that offered help with thinning hair and have gone through phases of eating lots of oily fish as I’d read that marine protein is really important for the health of hair but it really wasn’t until I took the supplement Viviscal that I noticed a real improvement in the quality of my hair. I liked the fact that Viviscal is a marine protein nutritional supplement which is designed to support hair growth naturally. Towards the end of three months I definitely noticed a little forest of short new hair growth and after six months the new hair growth was truly remarkable. I’m going through the happiest period of my grown-up life with my hair now.”
